Welcome To The Reptile Den
"Let us share our family with yours"

About Us

The Reptile Den is family owned and operated. We officially became ‘The Reptile Den’ in March 2005.  Prior to that we were unoficially doing several presentations at local schools and daycares to get our information out.  We began our collection in December 2003 with our very first snake.  From there we have grown to over 60 reptiles and that number changes all the time.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself…. My name is Kim Nodine.. I was born
and raised here in California which is probably where I will reside for most of my life so that I am always close to my children and my family.  As far as I can remember I have had a love for teaching and caring for young children.

From about age 8 through High School I babysat for many local families and spent  as much time with the neighbor’s young kids as I could.  After High School I went on to college to get my ECE units to further my professional career while running my own family day care center out of my home for 5 years.  Then I went on to teach in preschools/day cares and have been working with young children for about 15 years now.  I did decide to take a few years off from teaching to work in an office, but after   several years I found that there was an empty spot in my heart that was once filled with teaching and spending time with young children.  I have since returned to the childcare profession as an Infant Teacher at a local center.   Along with my teaching job and caring for my reptiles I have three awesome children and a wonderful husband that I love to spend as much time with as possible….  I am so fortunate that my husband and my children share the same passion to teach and work with young kids and reptiles as I do.   I have decided to leave the childcare field all together and focus fully on my business as well as be a full time mom to my quickly growing children.  I could not ask for a better opportunity… Teaching others about reptiles from all over the world with my husband and children by my side….

A few words from my husband…  Hello, my name is Michael Nodine..  I was born in California, but moved to South Africa at a very young age. I spent much of my younger years there living within a totally different culture and traveling throughout Southern Africa with my parents.  At the age of eight I came back to California where I have resided ever since.  I began my career in the Law Enforcement field, but decided that I wanted to help people change their lives for the better.  My mom has been a teacher as far back as I can remember and I have since realized, that I too have a passion for teaching others.  I returned to school and earned my BA in Psychology.  I worked in the private sector for many years teaching troubled teenagers and adults how to improve their lives and change the behaviors that brought them to me for help.  At the same time I was also teaching psychology at the local college level.  I eventually left teaching for the automotive industry where I assisted customers with their vehicle repair needs.  I have also coached baseball, soccer and wrestling for many years at the local parks and recreation leagues on top of  sharing my love for music with others by teaching piano lessons in my own home to both children and adults.   Together, my wife I have three exceptional children whom we adore.  I am so excited that they also love to care for and educate others about reptiles.  I am finally able to work full time from home with our family business allowing me to spend much more time with those that I love the most.  What a great opportunity that is…. my wife, my children and myself... working together… sharing our family with yours!
